Duquesne City SD
Bring Your Kids Home

In 2017, I played a key role in the launch and execution of the “Bring Your Kids Home” Campaign — a five-year student enrollment initiative for Duquesne City School District, a district with a rich history but facing declining enrollment and significant competition from charter schools. The campaign aimed to rally the community, restore pride, and bring students back to their local schools.

Through a multi-channel marketing strategy combining digital media, print design, community outreach, and event-based engagement, the campaign successfully reversed a decade-long enrollment decline. Within five years, student enrollment nearly doubled — growing from approximately 250 students to 430 — making Duquesne the first school in the state to reinstate its 7th and 8th grades after a 10-year absence. The campaign also contributed to the district’s return to WPIAL athletics, marking a major milestone for school and community pride.

Key Responsibilities & Contributions

  • Produced videos, ads, and photography showcasing the district’s strengths and student success

  • Designed and developed flyers, postcards, door hangers, and digital marketing materials

  • Redeveloped the website and established consistent branding across all platforms

  • Executed quarterly social strategies and managed engagement on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter

  • Organized community events and partnership initiatives with full media coverage and press releases

  • Partnered with local organizations and sponsors to drive awareness and enrollment

  • Led door-to-door outreach, directly engaging families to encourage enrollment

  • Delivered a $430K ROI — achieving a 250% return on marketing investment

  • Secured 15+ student returns in year one and helped double enrollment from 236 to 428 students
